Lion’s Heart had a special anniversary event to celebrate its 10th anniversary. All Chapters participated in a food drive during the month of August to benefit Second Harvest Food Bank in Orange County. We gathered food for 2,200 meals for families in Orange County, California. On Friday, approximately 150 teen Members gathered at the warehouse in Irvine to pack boxes of food for families. Each box of food contained enough items to feed a family of four for one week. Some of the items included in each box were applesauce, cornflakes, macaroni and cheese, pasta sauce, and noodles. Overall, the Members assembled and packed about 1,800 boxes of food for families.
Several local news outlets were there to cover the event. K-Cal 9 covered the event briefly in their newscast last night. A link to the video of the coverage is included below.
Additional coverage will be in the OC Register and the Daily Pilot soon!
Thank you to everyone who participated in the food drive and the anniversary event!
